A travel app that works offline
Guide · Updated October 2026
Airplane mode, a roaming bill you’d rather avoid, a basement metro: at some point on every trip you will have no signal. The question is whether you can still find your hotel address and your booking number.
What should work without internet
- Today’s plan and the next few days.
- Booking details: confirmation numbers, addresses, times.
- Tickets and boarding passes you’ve already opened.
- A record of what you’ve spent.
Before you leave: a short checklist
- Open each trip while you have Wi-Fi so the data is saved on your phone.
- Open your bookings and tickets once so they are available later.
- Download offline maps for your destinations in your maps app (Viajaro doesn’t replace those).
- Keep a second copy of critical documents, such as a passport photo, somewhere you control.
- Charge a power bank.
What Viajaro does offline
- Your trips, itinerary, bookings and expenses are kept on your phone, in an encrypted local store, and can be viewed without a connection.
- Tickets with a confirmation number can show a QR code generated on the device.
- Passport and visa scans are not downloaded for offline use, on purpose: a lost phone shouldn’t expose them. You’ll see a note in the app.
What needs a connection
- Generating or regenerating an itinerary with AI.
- Creating or editing most items; do this before you leave or on Wi-Fi.
- Weather forecasts and scanning new documents.
Being clear about this matters: an offline mode that fails silently is worse than none.
Try it
Viajaro is available on Google Play for Android; the iOS version is coming soon.
